Wolvehampton Wanderers are said to be interested in Antonee Robinson.
According to The Sun, the club are eyeing the Fulham defender along with Manchester City.
Supposedly, Wolves have ‘always liked’ Robinson, but have held off bidding for him in the past.
It’s explained Wolves may get involved if he becomes available for around £10 million.
12-cap USA international Robinson made 28 Premier League appearances last term.
The claim is certainly a bold one.
Earlier this week, Wolves moved to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri on a perment transfer from Angers.
That deal supposedly set the club back £9.5 million (The Athletic).
Jonny Castro Otto is currently out injured and set to miss the start of 2021/22.
But Bruno Lage also has Fernando Marcal at his disposal.
Robinson move would be a surprise
Wolves moving for Robinson would be a shock.
Jonny may be out, but Ait-Nouri has returned and Fernando Marcal can provide cover.
Hopefully the Brazilian can stay fit, but should that not be the case, Ki-Jana Hoever can also play on the left, as can Nelson Semedo.
Youngster Ryan Giles could also be an option.
It makes no sense for Wolves to sign another left-back for £10 million.
That money could, and should, be put towards signing an experienced central defender.
