Wolves could be one of the busiest clubs in England throughout the final few days of the January transfer window.
The Old Gold are expected to sign off on several deals — both incomings and outgoings.
Mario Lemina is in talks to sign for Torino and looks nailed on to leave Molineux before next week’s Deadline Day. Matheus Cunha’s future remains uncertain but fans are quietly optimistic the Brazilian will stick around until at least the end of the season.
In terms of incomings, Kevin Danso is Vitor Pereira’s pick at centre-back and Wolves have recently made an offer for Johnny Cardoso of Real Betis, so it’s clear to see where the priorities are.
And even though central defence and defensive midfield are clearly the areas Pereira wants to strengthen, fans have wondered if the club may look to provide competition and cover for Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Left-back addition unlikely but not totally ruled out
Ait-Nouri has been one of Pereira’s most trusted players.
The 23-year-old is a vital component in Wolves’ system, but after starting every Premier League match this season, looks like he may need a rest.
And club expert Liam Keen has admitted the left-back position is one Wolves are short of options in.
“The left-sided area feels like an area that Wolves could definitely add in, whether it becomes a priority in this window is a tough one,” he said on the E&S podcast.
Wolves Full-Backs | Age | Side |
Rayan Ait-Nouri | 23 | Left |
Nelson Semedo | 31 | Right |
Pedro Lima | 18 | Right |
Matt Doherty | 33 | Right |
Tyrell Malacia suggested as potential option
Going on to respond to one fan, who suggested Manchester United’s Tyrell Malacia as a realistic option, Keen agreed the out-of-favour 25-year-old could be a great addition to come in until the end of the campaign.
He added: “I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility they’ll look at that area [left-back], particularly if a [Kevin] Danso deal doesn’t happen.
“And out of all the players to suggest, I don’t think he’s [Tyrell Malacia] a horrendous one to suggest by any means but it may not be a priority for this window.”
Malacia is available this window after the Red Devils reached an agreement with Lecce to sign Patrick Dorgu. Ruben Amorim also has Diogo Dalot and the recently returned Luke Shaw among his options, so it’s not surprising Malacia wants to find regular football elsewhere.
So while Wolves’ interest remains unclear, as Keen noted, Pereira pushing for the ex-Feyenoord star might not be the worst transfer strategy.
