Several of Wolves’ loan players have been impressing away from Molineux but, one in-form star’s future is set to be away from England.
The Old Gold have an array of talent out on loan to gain experience over the 2024/25 campaign, with some making the headlines for their successes.
Hugo Bueno is starring in the Champions League with Feyenoord which is good news for Wolves, who ensured they agreed on a contract extension with the Spaniard before his exit.
Elsewhere in Europe, Fabio Silva is impressing at UD Las Palmas but, the striker’s future at Molineux is far more in doubt, being a player who is expected to depart for good in the summer.

Wolves applauded for ‘clever’ handling of Fabio Silva
Silva identified his struggles at Wolves with regard to the pressure he was under at such a young age, with things never working for the forward in England.
Since signing for a record transfer fee in 2020, Silva has embarked on several loan spells, representing PSV Eindhoven, Anderlecht, Rangers and now Las Palmas.
Following Silva’s humiliating loan spell at Ibrox, it was assumed that Wolves would finally cut ties with the Portugal U21 international but, he remains on the books at Molineux.
While Nuno Espirito Santo’s transfer plan for Silva has proven to be a disaster, the Old Gold have actually been praised for how they’ve handled the unfortunate situation.
That’s the belief of TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey, who spoke to Molineux News about what the future could hold for the wantaway forward.
“He is in wonderful form but he’s one of those players that’s not particularly suited to English football,” Bailey explained.
“Wolves have been very clever with him, with all of his loan deals it’s a risk but they’ve let him go out to Las Palmas, he is having a brilliant season. He’s under contract but I don’t see a future for him at Wolves but the way he’s playing opens all sorts of avenues.”
Wolves fans were stunned when Silva was linked to Atletico Madrid, as it was reported that Diego Simeone was keeping an eye on the loanee’s progression at Las Palmas.
Bailey commented on Atletico’s rumoured interest, understanding that Simeone’s side are ready to attack the summer market for a forward.
“Atletico, we know, they’ve seen a lot of him, Atletico have been linked to a lot of forwards so it appears they will be in the market.”
How Matheus Cunha could impact Fabio Silva’s transfer
A move to Atletico Madrid would be quite the turnaround of fortune for Silva, who failed his audition for Wolves in a high-pressured environment.
Links to the Champions League side are deserved, however, with the youngster showing what he’s capable of, contributing to nine goals on loan this season.
Could Atletico be the next step for Silva? Bailey admitted it is possible as Wolves’ relationship with the Spanish club is one strong point amid rumours.
“Atletico do have a good relationship with Wolves with the Matheus Cunha deal so, I think Silva has played himself into a very good move from what I understand.
“I think he will stay in Spain. It’s worked out really well for Wolves where they’re not really going to lose out on him as much now.”
Wolves dealt with Atletico Madrid in December 2022 when a deal was struck to acquire Cunha, with it possible that the two clubs do business once again in the summer thanks to their strong relationship.
