The January transfer window is fast approaching and Wolves are looking to strengthen one key position.
Wolves made a huge mistake not signing a replacement for Max Kilman during the summer, as the Wanderers have since suffered for their error.
Gary O’Neil’s men currently have the worst defence in the division, conceding 27 goals in 11 matches and although they kept a clean sheet in a win over Southampton before the break, improving their defence is much-needed.
Yerson Mosquera suffered a season-ending injury in September’s defeat to Aston Villa while doubts have been raised over Santi Bueno’s fitness after he suffered a groin injury for Uruguay.
Wolves will be hoping that Bueno is fine as he’s one of three fit senior centre-backs but even if he is, O’Neil still wants to invest in that position.
Juventus want to sign Wolves transfer target Eric Dier
On Thursday, it was reported that Wolves wanted to sign Eric Dier from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.
The 30-year-old is surplus to requirements in Bavaria and with his contract expiring in 2025, the Old Gold were eyeing a cut-price deal in two months.
Dier, who many will remember for his time at Tottenham, would be a brilliant addition to O’Neil’s defence, adding a wealth of experience and defensive qualities.

It’s a signing most Wolves fans would welcome with open arms, especially in their dire situation, although a deal looks increasingly difficult to complete.
Corriere dello Sport have reported that Juventus have emerged as an option for Dier, with the outlet stating his price tag could be around €5 million (£4.1 million).
Juve, much like Wolves, are currently on the lookout for a new centre-back, placing him on the shortlist alongside Milan Skriniar and Manchester United’s Harry Maguire.
For O’Neil and Wolves, Juve’s interest could put a spanner in the works in their attempts to sign him, as they’re currently in a six-race title battle at the top of Serie A.

Dier would surely reject Wolves’ move
Although Wolves should sign Dier if possible, interest from a European giant like Juventus just shows how highly thought of he is across Europe.
Dier – who has previously been dubbed ‘excellent’ – has made 49 caps for England internationally and featured on 274 occasions in the Premier League.
Whilst a return to England’s top flight could appeal to the former Tottenham man, moving to Wolverhampton surely won’t take his fancy, as O’Neil’s side are battling against relegation.
Dier perhaps knows he can hold out for a more lucrative and exciting move than Wolves, and this is reinforced by interest from Juventus.
