The Kevin Danso transfer saga has taken a new twist as a new club have entered the race to sign him before the deadline.
Wolves only signing of January so far remains Emmanuel Agbadou, though Vitor Pereira wants to make RC Lens centre-back Kevin Danso his second addition.
The 26-year-old is a long-term target of the Old Gold, who have tried to sign him in previous windows, with this being the closest they’ve come to signing him.
Wolves have seen two offers for Danso rejected and are joined in the race by Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.
However, RC Lens want around £25 million for Danso, suggesting Fosun is haggling over a few million and now a fresh update has emerged.

Wolves working on a loan move for Kevin Danso
According to L’Equipe, Wolves are working on a loan offer to sign Danso this month, as Lens prefers to offload him temporarily instead of selling him to Rennes.
The French side want to send him to the Premier League as a ploy to drive up his price ahead of the summer, seeing Wolves as an ideal destination.
The report also claims discussions are ongoing about the Old Gold paying €5m up front with an option to sign the player for €25m (£21m) in the summer.
However, it will take a lot of persuading the Austrian international to join a side battling relegation as he’s highly ambitious.
Danso outlined his preference to play Champions League football, and he could achieve that aim with another side interested in signing the centre-back.
Juventus have entered the race to sign Danso on loan
In a confusing turn of events, it has also been claimed by reliable journalist Gianluca Di Marzio that Lens have accepted Juventus’ offer for Danso.
Having waved goodbye to Danilo and lost Pierre Kalulu to injury, the Italian giants have placed a €2.5 million loan offer on the table with €1.5 million available in bonuses.
Di Marzio states that coming in with a loan has beaten Rennes in the race to sign him as they don’t want to sell to a direct rival permanently.
Wolves have also been dealt a further blow, as it’s reported the president of Lens has given the go-ahead for the player to join the Old Lady on loan.
Lens are attracted by the idea of Juventus having the funds to purchase him at the end of the season, potentially blowing Wolves out of the water.
Ultimately, they’re unable to offer Danso what he wants – European football – and that could be the deciding factor in this deal.
