Wolverhampton Wanderers are again being linked with a move for Douglas Costa, with a journalist claiming the club could table an offer in the next transfer window.

The winger has recently been linked with a return to his homeland with Gremio.

But according to Vagner Martins (as relayed by Calciomercato), Wolves are showing interest.

He believes the club would be willing to put down an offer of around €10 million/£9 million for the Juventus star, who has been on loan at Bayern Munich this season.

It is not stated how Costa feels about a potential switch to England.

The claim comes after Tuttosport (via the Daily Star) reported in September that Jorge Mendes was looking to facilitate a move to Molineux for Costa.

Given Wolves’ struggles this season, it will be interesting to see if the club actually make a move for the South American.

It would be a risk

Costa’s record with injuries is not too encouraging.

This term he’s been limited to just 11 Bundesliga appearances and 22 across all competitions this term, and has been out of action with a fractured foot since February.

Wolves have had a terrible season with injuries and probably don’t want to be bringing in players who are prone.

That said, £101,000-a-week star Costa (Calciomercato) is a tremendous talent capable of doing spectacular things, and has also won many trophies during stints at Juve and Bayern, so could be good for the dressing room in terms of the mentality he could bring.
