Wolves could reportedly make a fresh swoop for Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia, whom they tried and failed to sign in the summer.
Gary O’Neil is targeting a new number nine in this window in the hope of giving Matheus Cunha more of a free role.
Fabio Silva has left on loan to join Rangers and Sasa Kalajdzic may also be leaving the club this month with Eintracht Frankfurt said to be keen.
Apparently Wolves could move for Boulaye Dia, a player they attempted to sign at the end of the last transfer window.
Wolves were slammed by the Italian club for what they deemed a derisory offer – but Wanderers are seemingly not going to let any ill feeling stop them from going back in for him…
Wolves targeting Boulaye Dia again but face competition

It was reported by Cronache di Salerno yesterday that Wolves are still in the picture to sign Senegal international Dia.
Eintracht Frankfurt are said to be in pole position, which is ironic given the Bundesliga side’s interest in Kalajdzic.
But there is also interest from Everton and West Ham United in the Premier League and apparently, Salernitana will not sell the player for any less than £17 million.
Wolves may hope that Dia pushes for a move to Molineux.
When the club were trying to sign him in the summer, it was claimed that Dia was indeed pushing for the move. Dia was later fined by Salernitana for his reaction to not securing a move.
So far this season, Dia has scored four goals for Salernitana amid an injury-hit campaign.
A transfer saga to watch
In November it was claimed that Wolves had dropped their interest in Dia, but seemingly the club still have an eye on him.
Perhaps this would be a difficult deal to do, given the reaction by the Italian club to Wolves’ late approach last summer.
It did not go down well, and it’s possible Salernitana will not want to do business with the club this month.
Ultimately though money talks. Wolves don’t have much of it this window, as they look to avoid breaching Profit and Sustainability rules, but perhaps player sales can help fund a bid for Dia.
Dia is an out-and-out striker who has a good level of experience at the age of 27. With 20 goals and six assists in 47 games for his current club, he could make for a great signing.
