Wolves could make a fresh attempt to sign a player from the Bundesliga who almost joined the club last summer.
Gary O’Neil has had a positive start to the summer for Wolves so far.
Three new faces have come in, and Tommy Doyle‘s loan move from Manchester City was turned permanent.
Captain Max Kilman was sold to West Ham United over the weekend for £40 million. That has been seen by many as great business by the club.
It is possible that another big sale could yet be made, with speculation having followed both Pedro Neto and Rayan Ait-Nouri.
The Kilman sale is really interesting, because it does suggest that Wolves will be moving for a replacement, with Yerson Mosquera obviously lacking experience at Premier League level.
David Carmo is a possibility, but it has been claimed Wolves could try and sign a player they had eyes on last summer.
Wolves could reignite interest in Nico Elvedi after selling Max Kilman

It has been claimed by Bild that Wolves could potentially come back in for Nico Elvedi of Borussia Monchengladbach now that Kilman has been sold.
Elvedi was a player Wolves were heavily linked with last summer.
Back then, the club were dealing with a difficult financial predicament, and it was difficult to bring in players as the books needed balancing.
But Bild have claimed that Elvedi was actually ‘on the verge’ of joining Wolves last summer. But it did not come to fruition because Julen Lopetegui left the club.
Lopetegui, as everyone knows, grew tired of Wolves’ financial situation and apparently felt the club had moved the goalposts regarding plans for new signings.
Bild say Elvedi is on Wolves’ list again, and could join a club that have obviously just brought in a big sum of money with the sale of Kilman.
Elvedi has an exit clause in his contract worth around £8.5 million.
Elvedi would be a great signing
It really will be fascinating to see how Wolves respond now after selling Kilman to West Ham.
Realistically, a new face does need to come in. Mosquera is a player with big potential and O’Neil seems ready to give him a chance, but he has still never played in the Premier League.
Craig Dawson is not getting any younger and obviously finished last season injured. And the jury is still out on Santi Bueno.
Elvedi seems to be a player Wolves have liked for a while and the timing could be right for another swoop.
The Switzerland international seems great value at £8.5 million. He has a wealth of experience and like Kilman, he is durable. Since signing for Gladbach in 2015, he has clocked up 303 appearances, which averages out at 33 games per season.
As per fbref, he’s had a pass completion rate of 88.8% over the last 365 days which is highly impressive, and his ball-playing might be something that is particularly appealing to O’Neil.
