Wolves could launch late transfer bid for highly coveted £17 million midfielder, he wants out

Wolves could reportedly make a late swoop for highly rated Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra.

There are now just a few days left in the transfer window.

Gary O’Neil has said that the club are working on a few things.

It remains to be seen what sporting director Matt Hobbs and co can come up with.

At the moment, the big question is whether Matheus Nunes will leave the club and join Manchester City.

That would hand Wolves more money to work with for new players.

It’s possible that a Nunes sale might put Wolves in a better position to swoop for Diarra…

Wolves could go in for Habib Diarra – he wants to leave Strasbourg

According to L’Equipe, Wolves are now positioning themselves for a late raid on Strasbourg for 19-year-old midfielder Diarra.

It is stated that the club have ‘validated an arrival’ for the youngster, and should send a first offer soon.

Initially, Strasbourg were not willing to sell Diarra.

But now their stance is said to be a little looser.

There is potential competition for Wolves over Diarra in the form of Champions League side RC Lens, who have already seen three bids rejected for the player.

AC Milan, Napoli, AS Roma, Burnley and Wolsburg have all shown interest too.

It was reported earlier this month by GFFN that Strasbourg would consider offers in the region of £17 million. It was claimed that the highly coveted player is looking to leave the French side.

Diarra is a top talent and exactly the kind of profile Wolves are looking at

It will be fascinating to see if Diarra is a player Wolves move for.

He was linked with the club earlier this summer, but it has all been quiet in the last few weeks, with the focus being very much on outgoings at Molineux.

But maybe this is one to keep an eye on.

If Nunes leaves for Man City, then this could definitely start to develop.

Diarra is a player with major potential, and he fits the profile of player Wolves are looking to sign these days; unpolished, but with potential to become a top talent.
