Gary O’Neil fulfilled his wish of signing a number nine at Wolves this summer however, the manager may not be done there.
Wolves have already orchestrated five moves this summer in the transfer window, with four arriving and one departing the club.
Max Kilman was sold for £40m to West Ham United last week, representing Gary O’Neil’s first departure of the 2024/25 calendar.
While the manager has got to work at welcoming four new faces to Molineux, it’s been reported that the hunt for additional talent may not be over.

Wolves still have Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah on their transfer radar
After securing the signing of Jorgen Strand Larsen, Wolves officially have a number nine to integrate into O’Neil’s plans.
The manager was eager to hire a goalscoring presence throughout his first season at the club, with the Norweigan making his transfer wish come true.
While the boss has the player he desired, the latest reports suggest that the door is not completely closed when it comes to Wolves’ hunt for a forward.
As reported by CaughtOffside this week, Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is claimed to still be on the Midlands club’s radar.
Wolves have been linked to Nketiah throughout the summer, with the report now resurfacing the Old Gold’s apparent interest.
The article outlines Marseille’s admiration for the player, who is said to be valued around the €40m (£34m) mark by the Gunners.
CaughtOffside claims that Wolves are one of the clubs interested in the 25-year-old and could ‘make moves’ for the forward ‘soon’.
Interest in Nketiah is unexpected after Jorgen Strand Larsen capture
After spending £25m to acquire Strand Larsen, it seems unlikely that Wolves would be willing to splash out on a player with a similar profile.
Despite being “tremendous” at times for Arsenal, as Nketiah was lauded by journalist Layth Yousif, the forward is not as prolific as Wolves’ summer signing.
In La Liga last term, the Norweigan netted 13 goals, with Nketiah scoring only nine in the Premier League over the past two seasons.
While the Arsenal forward has his strengths, it would be confusing for Wolves to make a move for the 25-year-old, who would expectedly cost far more than Strand Larsen.
On the other hand, if rumours are to be believed, O’Neil’s side does need replenishment, with additional depth in the attacking positions a requirement ahead of 2024/25.
It will be interesting to see how serious Wolves are in their pursuit of Nketiah, who is expected to only leave Arsenal this summer if the price is right.
