Wolves are looking to shape their squad for the second half of the season – and Kalvin Phillips could be someone the club go for.
Rob Edwards got his first and Wolves’ first win at the weekend as the Old Gold swept aside West Ham United at Molineux.
The result has just given some fans a little more optimism, although there is still a long way to go for Wolves if they are to avoid relegation.
Who would be your DREAM January signing for Wolves?
Make it realistic!
But the result has the potential to serve as a catalyst, and it’s clear improvements are being made under Edwards.
What could also serve as a catalyst is if Wolves have a productive January.
Wolves are in a difficult spot due to their league position, so it really will be fascinating to see who comes in.
And it looks like Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips might be on the agenda.
Wolves considering Kalvin Phillips move

Around a month ago, journalist Liam Keen had reported that Wolves did look at a potential move for Phillips in the summer.
But it was decided a move wouldn’t be made.
Now, Four Four Two have reported that Wolves are actually considering a move for Phillips this window, as there is no chance of a renaissance at Manchester City.
Phillips has had loan spells at West Ham United and Ipswich Town but failed to impress, and currently he is stuck in limbo at City.
There are a few key points to the story from Four Four Two.
Wolves are said to be weighing up a loan swoop for Kalvin Phillips! 😳
What are your honest thoughts on this Wolves fans, would this be savvy or foolish?
Wolves are said to be considering a move to sign Phillips on a temporary basis until the end of the season, so perhaps that points to potential help from City with wage payment.
It’s also suggested that his status as a homegrown player is a factor behind Wolves’ initial interest.
Furthermore, Phillips would likely have to prove his fitness in order for Wolves to swoop.

Signing Phillips would be a big risk by Wolves
It is no real surprise to see a link to Phillips given his status as a homegrown player and that he needs a move away from City.
But this would potentially be a risky move by Wolves.

He has barely played recently, and it’s been a long time now since he was one of the top midfielders in England, with the move to City having proven quite damaging for his career.
There is the notion of Phillips having a fresh start at Molineux and Edwards taking him under his wing.
But Wolves could do with someone who is more of a guarantee to hit the ground running.
