Wolves have an incredibly rare opportunity to sign a seasoned Premier League goalscorer for nothing this summer.
Vitor Pereira has a list of positions that he’d like to see bolstered within the Wolves squad before the 2025/26 season commences.
First, the Wolves manager will be seeking reinforcements to replenish his side after the exits of Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha.
Several names are on the Old Gold’s list, and while the boss wants his ambition to be known, Pereira has hinted at his concern about Wolves’ transfer policy, with those above the coach needing to support him.
Fosun notoriously don’t pump funds into the club, making things hard for managers, particularly when key players are sold each year.
However, with that in mind, the West Midlands club could be tempted to make a statement by showing an interest in a newly emerging free agent.

Wolves target Dominic Calvert-Lewin to become a free agent
It’s been announced that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will leave Everton this summer at the expiration of his contract.
The Englishman spent nine years of his career as a Toffee and will now move on to pastures new, which will alert many clubs.
In April, Caught Offside reported Wolves’ interest in Calvert-Lewin, naming the Old Gold, West Ham United and Newcastle United as those showing admiration for the 28-year-old striker.
It’s been a difficult few years on the injury front for the number nine, with his ability to perform consistently derailed by numerous layoffs.
Still, with plenty left to give, lots of interest will surely be fired in Calvert-Lewin’s direction, with suitors knowing just how high the striker’s ceiling is when he’s fit and firing.
The 11-capped England international has scored 57 goals in the Premier League during his career at Everton, with his highest scoring season coming during 2020/21, seeing him net 16 league goals.
Since then, Calvert-Lewin’s scoring has become more sporadic, emphasising the need for the centre-forward to find an attractive project to commit his future to.
Whether Wolves could be that club is yet to be seen, but with Pereira at the helm, the Old Gold have the chance to present the striker with an opportunity to rediscover his form in a team whose attack is very much in transition.
How much does Dominic Calvert-Lewin earn?
Wolves have been linked to Yuri Alberto, signalling that Pereira is on the prowl for a new goalscorer this summer.
Though Jorgen Strand Larsen is expected to be the protagonist after his impressive debut campaign in Old Gold, there’s a vacancy going forward following Cunha’s exit.
What could separate Wolves from other clubs in the race to sign Calvert-Lewin is the wage book, as the 28-year-old’s current salary is higher than any player in Pereira’s squad.
Wolves’ highest earners are Nelson Semedo and Pablo Sarabia, with the latter already gone and the captain set to leave.
As per Capology, Calvert-Lewin collects £100k-a-week at Everton, making him the Toffees’ third-highest earner.
Whether Wolves would be willing to offer the Englishman a salary of that amount is unknown, with the player’s next steps unclear at this moment.
