Wolves are reportedly one of the most interested teams in teenage striker Yanis Senhadji, along with Real Madrid.
Wolves are potentially set to make a couple of additions in January, with Gary O’Neil ready to oversee his first full window as manager.
Wanderers have enjoyed a decent start to the new season considering the chaos of selling players and Julen Lopetegui leaving just days before the new campaign.
It will be very interesting to see what Wolves do next month, although there apparently won’t be too much money to spend.
But Wolves still want to reinforce, and it looks as though the club have eyes on a talented young player from Spain…
Wolves interested in Yanis Senhadji but Real Betis contract renewal is on the cards
Diario de Sevilla reported yesterday that interesting is mounting in Yanis Senhadji, an 18-year-old striker from Real Betis.
Senhadji is described in the report as ‘one of the sensations of the 2023/24 season’. He has not yet played for Betis’ first-team, but has been impressing for the Betis Deportivo side.
Wolves are said to be taking an interest in Senhadji, whose contract is actually expiring next summer, meaning Betis are in a potentially tricky spot. Real Madrid are also said to have presented an offer.
Betis are hoping to get the Algerian-born youngster – who is a Spain U19 international – tied down to a new contract to avoid losing him for nothing next year. It is stated that negotiations are in progress at the moment.
Perhaps unfortunately for Wolves though, it is stated that Senhadji’s team are prioritising the player staying at Betis, because they see a golden opportunity for him to develop there.
The parties are said to understand that the most beneficial option is for the relationship to continue.
Wolves seemingly set to miss out
Judging by the tone of Diario de Sevilla’s report, it looks as though Wolves are facing an uphill battle to sign Senhadji.
It is understandable that his team are quite keen for him to remain at Betis. He’s still very young and so it would be quite a big risk to his development to embark on a new challenge next year.
He hasn’t even played for Betis’ first-team yet and you would imagine the plan is for him to do that before he leaves the club.
Perhaps he is someone to keep an eye out for in the future though.
