Wolves will be wary of FC Porto’s reported interest in one of Vitor Pereira’s most promising players.
Pereira won two league titles with Porto when he was manager between 2011 and 2013.
The Portuguese coach was a strong servant to the Dragons, and now, it’s understood that Porto are eyeing a player strongly admired by Pereira at Wolves.
Pereira didn’t want to sell lots of players this summer, something he’ll be desperate to remain firm on following the exits of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Porto are considering a move for Rodrigo Gomes
Cunha’s exit to Manchester United was expected after the Brazilian communicated his desire to leave in March.
Though Wolves wanted Ait-Nouri to stay, the defender made it clear that he wanted to leave, refusing to sign a new contract at Molineux.
With the two key sales happening early in the transfer window, Pereira certainly won’t want to lose another top player this summer, with Rodrigo Gomes the latest to be linked with a move away.
It’s been reported by Portuguese transfer expert Sebastiao Sousa-Pinto that Porto are ‘considering making a move’ to sign Gomes this summer.
The versatile full-back, who only signed for Wolves last summer, is being looked at by Porto, who are doing the groundwork on the player before anything else.
Sousa-Pinto notes that Porto are ‘looking to understand’ where they stand on the transfer, attempting to learn the ‘terms’ over a potential deal.
Wolves paid £12.7m for Gomes last summer, signing the 22-year-old from SC Braga and ever since, he’s become one of the most loved players at Molineux.

No chance that Wolves would sell Gomes
Gomes is still very much a fringe player, but Pereira already understands what he could offer to the starting XI in the near future.
The Portugal U21 international has many strings to his bow and shows his desire to achieve at Wolves whenever he’s in action.
It’s no surprise that Wolves fans want to see more of Gomes, who, in his debut campaign for the Old Gold, scored three goals in 28 appearances.
Having only just signed the wide player and having seen the incredible potential he has, it has to be said that it’s extremely unlikely that Wolves would part ways with the 2024 signing so soon.
