Wolves are on the hunt for a replacement for Pedro Neto following the winger’s transfer to Chelsea.
On Sunday, it was announced that Pedro Neto had joined Chelsea in a transfer worth a reported £54m from Wolves.
The Portugal international ended his five-year association with the Midlands club following months of speculation over his future.
The race is on for Gary O’Neil to acquire a suitable replacement for the winger, with one name now identified.

Wolves are looking at Yoane Wissa as a candidate to replace Pedro Neto
While it will be difficult to find a direct replacement for Neto, who was simply unplayable on his day at Wolves, a positional match must be located before deadline day.
On Wednesday, journalist Mike McGrath reported that one candidate to replace the forward is Brentford’s Yoane Wissa.
McGrath reported that Wolves “are looking at” Wissa among other targets to replace Neto, with “talks ongoing” over a possible deal.
The Bees signed Wissa back in 2021 for a fee in the region of just £8.5m, where he has since impressed many in the Premier League with his form in the final third.
With a contract that is set to expire in 2026, Brentford have a decision to make if Wolves are to submit an official offer for the Democratic Republic of Congo international.
Given Wissa’s Premier League experience, the versatile forward would be an exciting target for O’Neil to chase to replenish the front line.
Wissa would be a good fit for Gary O’Neil
Last season, the Brentford ace contributed to 15 goals in 34 Premier League appearances, scoring 12 and assisting three.
From his searing pace to his eye for goal, Wissa would be a smart player for Wolves to now target in a bid to replace Neto before deadline day.
Capable of playing in most of the roles across the front line of attack, Wissa’s dynamic playing style could fit O’Neil’s set-up perfectly.
Interestingly, the 27-year-old is listed as being statistically comparable to Matheus Cunha, via FBref, telling of how positive acquiring his services could be this summer.
The pair are keen dribblers of the ball, both being blessed with pace and having an eye for playmaking and scoring, something that O’Neil is in need of after losing Neto.
In the argument of eyeing a replacement for the Portugal international, Wissa is a strong candidate based on the fact he is a more prolific goalscorer than the departed winger, who netted more goals last season than Neto has in his Premier League career.
Only time will tell how much Brentford value their forward at and whether Wolves have the funds to match such price.
