Wolves fans are exciting for a potential summer of change.
It has been a pretty good season all things considered, but many feel as though Wanderers could actually have had a much better campaign in the end.
The club could have secured European football, but passed up too many opportunities. And today’s defeat to Liverpool, combined with results elsewhere, means Wanderers have finished 10th in 2021/22.
Ultimately, Wolves need more quality.
All eyes will be on the club’s recruitment officials this summer.
We know that it is Wolves’ desire to become self-sufficient. And key to that will be to find bargains in the transfer market.
Previously, Wolves have been linked with a move for Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara.
The 22-year-old, who can play as a midfielder or a centre-half, has announced he is leaving the French side as a free agent (via Telefoot).
He is regarded as one of the best prospects in France.
Frustratingly, it would seem that Aston Villa are now closing in on the star.
The Athletic have now claimed the player will sign for Steven Gerrard’s outfit.
Wolves were linked with Kamara last summer, but nothing ever materialised.
Boubacar Kamara is Aston Villa-bound, and it’s an opportunity missed for Wolves
It is hard to accept that Villa are signing Kamara, seemingly without a challenge from Wolves.
Wolves need to strengthen at centre-back and in midfield this summer. And Kamara is able to play both positions.
It seems strange to think that Wolves wouldn’t try and make a move for a player with his ability and potential. Especially since he’s be a free agent.
Wolves have seemingly had interest in him previously. Who knows if the club ever came close to getting him, but him now signing for Aston Villa feels like a big opportunity wasted for Wanderers.
