Wolves announce Emmanuel Agbadou transfer

Agbadou arrives from Reims following a statement two and a half years in France, where he arrived in 2022 from Belgian side KAS Eupen.

Before making the move to Ligue 1, the Wolves defender had represented clubs in Belgium, Ivory Coast and Tunisia.

Now officially a Premier League player, Agbadou is ready to make his name known in the West Midlands, where he’s set to become an instant hit at Wolves.

The Old Gold have been crying out for a centre-back since the summer and finally, Wolves have their man.

Agbadou’s arrival is a positive however, Pereira’s work in bolstering his defence is not over, as Wolves plot to welcome another centre-back before the end of the month.

Wolves’ offer for Agbadou wowed Reims

Wolves agreed a £15m deal for Agbadou long before his announcement, with things progressing seamlessly thanks to the Premier League side’s opening offer.

Speaking to L’Union, Reims club president Jean-Pierre Caillot confirmed that the Ivorian would leave France to join Wolves, describing the offer as irrefutable.

“Emmanuel was expected to leave last summer, but Stuttgart’s offer didn’t suit us. Several clubs were interested, but Wolverhampton’s offer couldn’t be refused,” he said.

It remains to be seen who the Old Gold will target next, with centre-back Vitor Reis admired by Wolves, in what is set to be a busy month.
