Wolves and Nottingham Forest battling for 47-cap midfield powerhouse as one club drop out, amid £21m bid claim

After the signing of Fer Lopez, Wolves are looking to further bolster their squad – but could face competition for one midfield target.

It has been a slow start for Wolves on the incomings front so far this summer.

But with a new accounting period beginning tomorrow, it could be that Wolves become busier in the coming weeks.

And that certainly needs to happen, with three key players having left already in this window.

Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Pablo Sarabia have all left Molineux and Wolves will suffer if they are not adequately replaced.

But Wolves also want a new midfielder, with Tommy Doyle looking likely to leave.

And in recent days, Yunus Musah of AC Milan has found himself on Wolves’ radar.

It has been reported by Gazzetta dello Sport that Wolves would be willing to bid for Musah.

But Nottingham Forest – managed by Nuno Espirito Santo – could also come in with a bid for the 47-cap US international.

It was reported a few days ago that there was interest from Wolves and Forest in Musah.

Napoli were keen on securing a domestic transfer for the star, and were willing to propose £21 million. But it’s suggested nothing is on the cards for them now.

Now the suggestion is that both Wolves and Forest would be willing to offer the same amount that Napoli were.

It is suggested that Milan would not oppose the Premier League duo coming in and tabling bids for the 22-year-old.

Musah seems like a Vitor Pereira player

So Wolves could soon make a move for Musah, and the interest in him doesn’t come as too much of a surprise.

We have seen Pereira favour physical players so far during his time at Molineux, and Musah is certainly that.

Goal note that he is ‘strong and quick’, although they also suggested that he was a player between positions, as a box-to-box operator whose defensive attributes needed work.

The Analyst previously said that Musah’s greatest trait is his ball-carrying ability, so perhaps he would benefit from playing further up the field.

Wolves have just lost two amazing ball carriers in Cunha and Ait-Nouri, so Pereira may just ease the blow of that a little if he can get Musah in.
