There has reportedly been a significant update in West Ham’s pursuit of Wolves captain Max Kilman.
Last summer, Julen Lopetegui rejected a bid from Napoli as the Serie A giants attempted to lure Max Kilman away from Wolves.
This summer, interest in the centre-back has not changed but this time, Lopetegui wants to sign the Englishman at his new club West Ham.
Gary O’Neil will be eager to keep hold of his captain however, a new update has hinted that the defender could be on his way out of Molineux.

Wolves accept latest West Ham bid for Max Kilman
Speculation regarding Kilman’s future has been flying early into the transfer window, with West Ham always the most likely candidate to land his signature.
Now, it has been reported that Wolves have accepted the Hammers’ bid for the centre-back, despite it being below the understood asking price.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth reported on Thursday afternoon that Lopetegui’s side had seen their latest offer of £40m accepted by the Old Gold.
It’s been believed that the Midlands club wanted a price in the region of £45m for their captain however, it now seems that a deal has been struck marginally below such fee.
There was an understanding earlier this week that Wolves could be tempted to lower the price tag placed on Kilman, which seems to have come to light.
Kilman exit is a shock despite West Ham pushing
After playing every minute of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign under O’Neil, Kilman was never considered a likely target to leave.
Now, the 27-year-old looks as though his time at Molineux could be up, six years after he arrived from Non-league side Maidenhead United.
While the news of a possible £40m price tag is ultimately good for Wolves’ finances, as a huge profit will be obtained, O’Neil will now be eager to replace his star defender.

As for Maidenhead, Kilman’s previous club, whom he signed for just £40,000 from, will receive a chunk of the fee, with a 15% sell-on fee in place.
The hunt will now be on for the Old Gold to replace their captain, who is expected to rejoin former boss Lopetegui at the London Stadium ahead of the 2024/25 season.
