Max Kilman remains a Wolves player for now, and a report has shared why the club are being patient over the player, after rejecting two bids from West Ham United.
Kilman has found himself at the centre of a lot speculation over the last couple of weeks.
Fans expected most of the talk to be about Pedro Neto or Rayan Ait-Nouri, given their fine seasons in 2023/24.
But it is the captain who has been spoken about the most, with Wolves having placed a £45 million asking price on the English defender.
Wolves have been sticking to that valuation, and have so far rejected two offers from West Ham.
It has now been claimed why Wanderers are exercising patience with this particular transfer saga.
Wolves ‘expect’ bigger clubs to make bids for Max Kilman

So far, West Ham have seen two bids for Kilman rejected.
Their second bid apparently included a player, although there has been no word of who that was.
Newcastle United are the only other club to have made a bid for Kilman, offering cash plus Elliot Anderson.
We are only now just coming into July so there is plenty of time left this summer for clubs to make moves. With that in mind, Wolves are prepared to sit tight over Kilman.
Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on the situation today, and he says that Wolves are actually expecting other clubs to come to the table with offers for Kilman.
He told Give Me Sport: “They already made two bids; the first one was rejected, and the second one included a player but was again rejected by Wolves.
“They want around £45million for Kilman, and probably they expect also some other big clubs to enter the race for Kilman later in the window, so this is why they are taking their time. But interest from West Ham is absolutely genuine.
“They like the player, and obviously Julen Lopetegui knows him very well, and so they are still pushing to go for him, I think they will try again.”
Previously, it has been claimed that Manchester United could come in for Kilman, having had difficulty landing other targets.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked this year, as have Chelsea in the past.
Wolves right to wait it out
Wolves are absolutely right to stand firm over Kilman, who was this week described as ‘an absolute superstar’ by Dave Edwards.
The club have set their £45 million asking price, and now we wait to see who will meet it.
In addition to West Ham, it is very possible that one of United or Tottenham could also come in with a bid in the coming weeks.
While it is a high asking price, there is a reasonable chance that one club will end up paying it.
Wolves just have to make sure they have done their due diligence on potential replacements. So in the event that Kilman leaves the club later on in the window for £45 million, then they are prepared.
