Why latest Wolves offer for Chelsea striker Armando Broja was ‘instantly dismissed’

Wolves have seen an offer for Chelsea striker Armando Broja rejected today, with a little over 48 hours left in the January transfer window.

Gary O’Neil, Matt Hobbs and other Wolves officials are continuing to try and make new additions before the winter window closes.

It has been a tough window for all clubs, but especially Wolves, who are still trying to be careful regarding Profitability and Sustainability rules. O’Neil said last week that financial restrictions had forced the club away from two proposals.

One signing O’Neil wants to make above all else is a new striker, and a host of names have been linked with a move to Molineux.

Armando Broja is one such player and today, Wolves are reported to have seen one offer rejected, and journalist Alex Crook has shared why this was…

Broja is seen as a potential option for Wolves, given the fact that he hasn’t been a regular at Stamford Bridge.

The Albania international is very possibly going to leave the club in this window, but Chelsea’s demands have been sky-high.

Apparently, the Blues value Broja at around £50 million.

It was reported yesterday that Wolves were hoping to get Broja in on loan, and agree an option to buy worth under £35 million with Chelsea.

But today, Wolves have reportedly made a straight loan offer, which according to Alex Crook on X, was dismissed ‘instantly’. He suggests Chelsea do not want to entertain straight loan offers and would want an option to buy at the very least.

Wolves are wasting time

If it’s true that Wolves made a simple loan proposal for Broja, with no option to buy at least, then that’s strange.

Chelsea clearly want either a guaranteed fee for the player – who Mauricio Pochettino thinks has the potential to be ‘amazing’ – or at the very least a potential for him to be sold.

They are not going to entertain sending Broja out on loan as this would not benefit them in any way.

Wolves should be trying to propose an option to buy. This would mean a better chance of landing Broja and if the move did not work out then it would obviously not have to be triggered.
