Wolves are expected to be busy in January, with a new centre-back on the agenda for Vitor Pereira.
Wolves came into the new season with just four senior centre-backs, but lost one of those – Yerson Mosquera – to a season-ending knee injury after just a couple of months.
The failure to sign a centre-back to replace Max Kilman has cost Wolves dearly.

Currently, Wolves have the worst defensive record in the Premier League, having shipped a whopping 42 goals in just 16 games.
Vitor Pereira has come in and helped Wolves to shore up defensively.
But the new manager knows he needs new recruits. It was recently claimed Wolves could hand Pereira two new defensive recruits – and now there is word on who the top target is for Wanderers.
Kevin Danso is Wolves’ top centre-back target

According to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas, Wolves are set to prioritise a move for Kevin Danso of Lens next month.
Wolves were reported to be interested in Danso earlier this month, with Lens looking to balance the books. Their sporting director Diego Lopez is tasked with bringing down the wage bill, and Danso could be sold as a result.
Thomas reports that Wolves are ‘already putting the work in to make it happen’.
Danso has previously been on English shores, having had a loan spell with Southampton.
It didn’t really work out for him, but love the last couple of years at Lens Danso has really impressed and at the end of the 2022/23 season he was named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year.
Wolves have also been linked with Ben Godfrey, who has struggled to start regularly since moving to Atalanta.
Danso interest comes amid injury for Toti Gomes
The claim about Danso being Wolves’ top target comes after Pereira gave a slightly concerning update after the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Fans noticed that there was no Toti Gomes at all in the squad to face Spurs.
Pereira said: “Toti’s hamstring. A lot of games in a row with this intensity, it’s normal that the injuries come.”
Pereira proceeded to admit that Wolves are short in central defence, and that we ‘need to bring someone with some experience.
According to Liam Keen, Toti could be out for three to four weeks, meaning Craig Dawson and Santiago Bueno are currently the only senior centre-backs who are fit.
