Contract details emerge as Wolves close Emmanuel Agbadou transfer

It seems as though the centre-back’s pending arrival will mark the start of the window for Wolves, who are expected to welcome another defender before the end of the month.

Agbadou will join Wolves from Reims in a rapid move from the Ligue 1 club to the Premier League, getting his first taste of English football.

The wait is almost over for fans to see their new signing in Old Gold however, supporters will have to be patient as David Ornstein explained the Ivorian’s plan for the week.

Ornstein took to X to report that the defender is undergoing a medical in France before flying to England to complete his transfer to Wolves.

The deal is in its final stages but, there’s a short waiting period as Agbadou waits to be granted a visa before flying to the United Kingdom.

The renowned journalist also relayed the player’s contract details at Molineux, as Wolves will pay €18m+2m for the defender, who will sign a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Agbadou’s deal will have the option of an additional year, as the final details of his move are ironed out before his unveiling.

Agbadou will not be at the Nottingham Forest game

There was an understanding that Agbadou would be at Molineux on Monday night for the Old Gold’s clash with Nottingham Forest however, Ornstein revealed that this will not be the case.

Due to the Ivory Coast international’s wait for a visa, heading to the West Midlands before Monday’s fixture is not an option, with the deal set to be announced once he arrives in England.

Being 27, Agbadou’s career has sprung to life in recent years, signing for Reims in 2022 from Belgian side Eupen and now, is set to become a Premier League player.
