Wolves are closing in on a move for Jhon Arias after an agreement with Fluminense was reached late last night.
It has been a somewhat turbulent week, with word of an agreement for Jhon Arias arriving on Monday.
The claims came slightly prematurely though, but thankfully the transfer is moving in the right direction.
Wolves have agreed a £19 million fee for Arias, with around £5 million of that going to the player’s former club Patriotas.
It’s thought Arias has accepted a lower salary from Wolves in order to realise his dream of playing in Europe.
It was suggested Arias signing his Wolves contract could take place this weekend.
But a fresh claim this evening suggests fans may need to be a bit more patient for those first snaps of Arias wearing old gold.
Wolves hope Jhon Arias will complete his medical next week, visa now being sorted

Tonight, Arias is expected to feature for Fluminense against Cruzeiro in their Brazilian Serie A clash.
It will be his farewell match, and there may well be a few nervous Wolves fans, and also executives at Molineux, tuning in.
Hopefully he’ll come through that game unscathed, and then be free to make his move.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has offered an update on the situation this evening, and says that a medical could take place next week with the player’s visa issue currently being sorted out.
He said on X: “Wolves hoping Jhon Arias can undergo a medical next week, although nothing is booked yet.
“Club working through formal steps, including visa process, after agreeing a fee with Fluminense.”
Wolves fans can now breathe easy over Arias
The last couple of days have seen some Wolves fans get a little worried about this particular transfer.
But the club were always confident of getting a deal done, and now it is just a matter of time before he officially signs.
He’ll miss the training camp in Portugal, but hopefully the medical can take place as early as possible next week and he can get started with his new club.
This is certainly an exciting signing by Wolves.
After losing Matheus Cunha and Pablo Sarabia, there was a clear need to bring in someone who can make an impact in the final third. Not a prospect, but someone who can deliver now.
Arias may have never played in England before, but his numbers for Fluminense have been great and he can also bring physicality and work rate to Vitor Pereira’s side.
