When Jhon Arias contract signing is set to take place as Wolves finally reach transfer agreement for £19m

Late last night, Wolves finally reached a breakthrough over Jhon Arias.

A few days ago, Wolves thought they had taken a big step towards signing Arias, but it turned out the signing was not as close as first suggested.

Arias has never wavered though, and has always been keen to join Wolves.

Arias’ dream is to play in Europe, so he has been ready to do what it takes to make a move to Molineux happen.

Arias was even willing to take a pay cut to join Wolves.

Part of the delay has been down to Fluminense’s ownership of Arias. They wanted to increase that to 75%, with Arias’ old club Patriotas having been due 50% of any future fee.

But late last night, it was reported that Wolves finally reached an agreement.

Globo Esporte have been covering this story very closely, and last night they gave word of an agreement between Wolves and Fluminense.

This is a key breakthrough, with Arias now set to complete his move.

Globo say that an agreement is in place for Wolves to sign Arias for around £19 million, with Fluminense currently owning 90% of the player’s rights.

In terms of the breakdown of the fee:

This comes after Wolves’ first offer of around £17 million was rejected on Monday.

Interestingly, Fluminense actually have a game tonight against Cruzeiro.

Fluminense intend to pick Arias for their squad against Cruzeiro, and it is now expected that it will be a farewell game for the player.

Big news for Wolves as Jhon Arias could complete transfer by weekend

It was vitally important for Wolves not to let this situation drag on, and seemingly, Arias’ move is now quite close after a breakthrough.

It is stated by Globo that Arias is now poised to complete his move, and that his contract could be signed by the weekend.

Whether that means he will actually be officially announced then by Wolves is another question.

But undoubtedly this is big news for Wolves, and a welcome update after fans started to worry that Arias – who data indicates has had a very strong 2025 so far – would not sign.

He is an ideal signing for Wanderers, and will bring versatility, impact and also leadership.
