What Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen has been doing behind the scenes amid exit rumours

Jorgen Strand Larsen looks likely to leave Wolves within the next year, but it remains to be seen whether he will be at the club past January.

There is plenty of interest in the Norwegian, despite him misfiring for the Old Gold across the Premier League season.

Larsen has been the subject of interest from West Ham and Crystal Palace, but Wolves’ £40 million asking price may be too much for those sides to muster up, as the two London clubs have baulked at that tag.

Most recently, Nottingham Forest has been tipped as a potential destination for the forward.

However, while speculation continues to be rife, Rob Edwards has revealed how the striker is doing behind the scenes as the exit rumours keep popping up.

Do you think Jorgen Strand Larsen has downed tools this season?

Perhaps the failed summer move is still on his mind…

Jorgen Strand Larsen’s attitude labelled as ‘brilliant’

Jorgen Strand Larsen’s best appearance of the season came against West Ham earlier in the season in the Carabao Cup.

The forward came off the bench to net two goals in a comeback win for the Old Gold. Since then, he has only managed one more finish in all competitions, a penalty against Burnley.

With Larsen not at his best, you would not be surprised to see Wolves look to cash in on the striker they were so desperate to keep in the summer, especially after Rob Edwards’ latest January window confession.

But the Wanderers head coach believes all of the transfer talk is not affecting his number nine.

Rob Edwards has said the following about Jorgen Strand Larsen in his pre-West Ham press conference: “His attitude has been brilliant. He is working extremely hard, and there is no concerns about that.

“Because of the position we’re in, we have some good players, so there is going to be speculation about them, not just him. I am not concerned about it because the attitude is good.”

Fill in the blank: Jorgen Strand Larsen is now worth £___million.

In the case that Larsen does leave, Wolves have already done their due diligence in identifying replacements.

MLS’s Sam Surridge is on the Old Gold’s shortlist, and a deal to bring Hibernian’s Kieron Bowie to Molineux has been mooted at £5 million.

It might be wise to finally cash in on Jorgen Strand Larsen

Wolves need to keep their best players, and while Jorgen Strand Larsen falls under that category, he has yet to show why he deserves to remain there this season.

It has been an awful season for the Old Gold, and Larsen may well end up just being a victim of his surroundings. He clearly showed he can play to a high level in the Premier League last season.

However, with Championship football more than likely inbound, extracting as much cash as possible for a summer rebuild may be the correct move.

Wolves are not spending powerhouses, and as seen throughout many years under Fosun, they often have to sell to buy in the market.

In an ideal world, Larsen would remain a Wolves player past January, but it might not be likely, with Jamie Carragher believing a deal could be made quickly.
