Wolves are facing new pressure to keep hold of Jorgen Strand Larsen, after Newcastle United came in with a first bid today.
Wolves have spent the summer offloading players, and there is still a possibility that more could leave Molineux.
But one man fans really don’t want to see depart is Jorgen Strand Larsen, scorer of 14 goals in his debut Premier League season in 2024/25.
Strand Larsen was brilliant last term, and is now one of the main men for Wolves after Matheus Cunha departed.
But recently Newcastle showed interest in Strand Larsen, amid all the uncertainty over Alexander Isak, who is wanted by Liverpool.
But after today’s news of a bid from Newcastle, there is a positive update about the situation.

Wolves don’t think Newcastle can come up with an appropriate fee for Jorgen Strand Larsen

Wolves fans have been hoping to see several new recruits this week.
Christantus Uche could soon join Wolves, who are in talks with Getafe over a move, and defender Ladislav Krejci is also being targeted for a move.
But Wolves fans are now worried about Newcastle pursuing Strand Larsen.
However, there is good news in that Wolves’ stance over the player is currently very firm.
According to Craig Hope, who covers Newcastle for the Daily Mail, Wolves believe that the Magpies can’t afford the Norwegian.
He said on X this afternoon: “I’m told Wolves do NOT want to sell this window & believe there is no fee Newcastle could reach that would be acceptable.”
But, of course, this does not mean Wolves are completely out of the woods.
Newcastle may test Wolves’ resolve with higher Strand Larsen bid
There’s every chance Newcastle will make an improved offer for Strand Larsen after their £50 million bid was knocked back.
The situation they have with Isak is very far from ideal. He doesn’t want to play for them anymore, and while Newcastle want top dollar for him, they also can’t really be keeping someone who is clearly very unhappy, and someone who would lose value by not playing.
If Newcastle come back to the table for Strand Larsen, there could eventually be a situation where the player agitates for a move.

Wolves fans would like to hope that Strand Larsen wouldn’t do that.
He’s happy at the club, and only just turned his move permanent.
But sometimes, opportunities arise, and Newcastle can offer Champions League football, and that is bound to appeal.
That said, hopefully, Wolves will continue to stand firm and Strand Larsen will show loyalty.
