What Wolves’ current stance over Pedro Neto is as six clubs named in race

Wolves winger Pedro Neto has been dazzling fans this season, but the Portuguese may not be doing that at Molineux for too much longer.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a terrific campaign so far, scoring three goals and making 10 assists across all competitions.

In the words of Molineux legend John Richards, Neto has been ‘outstanding’ for Gary O’Neil, and it was a real shame that he picked up a hamstring injury that ruled him out of the campaign for around two months.

Thankfully, Wolves managed OK without him, but it’s been clear since his return how much better the team is with him in it.

There has been speculation about Pedro Neto and his future for a while now, and a new report has shared Wolves’ stance over the player heading into the summer…

According to The Sun, Wolves are ‘realistic’ about Neto heading into the summer.

The club knew when they signed him in 2019 that they had a top quality player on their hands, and there is a feeling of surprise that he is still at the club now.

It is suggested that had it not been for his bad luck with injuries, Neto would have already left by this point.

Wolves know that Neto could go in the summer, and Fosun want the club to be self-sustainable. Offloading Neto for big money will help to achieve that.

It is stated that Wolves ‘intend to follow Leicester City’s blueprint of selling off a major player every season to finance further moves in the transfer market’.

Last summer, Wolves offloaded two major players in the form of Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes, as they sought to balance the books.

The Sun add that Neto is the likeliest major player to leave in the summer, with Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Juventus and Bayern Munich all showing interest.

Pedro Neto will want to go

It is hard to imagine Neto would not want to go in the summer.

He has been brilliant for Wolves and his ability and potential has been there for all to see.

Neto admitted earlier in the season that he was very happy at Wolves, but he’ll be acutely aware of the level of interest in him and that he could very easily be playing in the Champions League if he pushed for an exit.

It has previously been reported that Neto does actually see himself as the next big sale at Molineux.

Wolves fans obviously don’t want him to go, but it would be a real shock if Neto was still a Wolves player next season.
