Wolves fans are still nervously waiting for news about Nelson Semedo, whose contract at Molineux expires in just five days’ time.
The Portugal international recently finished his fifth season at Wolves, after signing for the club back in the summer of 2020.
The star has clocked up 182 appearances for the club, and has pretty much been a regular at Molineux from the moment he arrived.
After Wolves’ final game of the 2024/25 season against Brentford, Semedo was serenaded by fans at Molineux, with the wing-back looking emotional as he soaked it all in.
It gave the impression he could be leaving, but Semedo told fans on Instagram days later he was still deciding his future.
There still hasn’t been any indication from Nelson Semedo about his decision, but Molineux News has obtained some information regarding the club’s current feelings.
Wolves think Nelson Semedo is now more likely to leave and go abroad

Semedo’s contract with Wolves officially expires after June 30.
That is just five days away, so Wolves may soon be communicating the player’s decision to fans.
That said, it’s not out of the question Semedo’s deal could expire and he could still accept the contract offer that’s on the table after June 30.
But Wolves need a quick resolution, and the club are not hopeful the player will agree to extend.
Molineux News asked transfer expert Graeme Bailey about Wolves’ interest in Kyle Walker-Peters, and he told us that any move for him would hinge on Semedo.
“There’s lots of clubs looking at Walker-Peters. Everton, Fulham, Leeds, Spurs.
“I think he’s on Wolves’ list as well, but I think he’s in the position to consider his options a bit at the minute from what I’m hearing. Wolves will be determined by the Semedo situation. Wolves have made him an offer, we know that. I’m told it’s unlikely that he stays.
“Wolves do believe he’s more likely to go back abroad most likely back to Benfica, there are other teams. They did want him to stay.”

All signs point to Semedo exit
There have been several signs previously to suggest that the notion of Semedo staying put was fanciful.
A removal van was pictured at his residence recently. A Portuguese media outlet said this was nothing to do with Benfica, but it was still ominous.
And Semedo was also seen at Molineux filming a goodbye video, to be used in the event of him leaving. At that point, he had apparently not yet made his decision.
If Semedo was wanting to stay, one would have thought he’d have signed the extension by now.
And given his age, ability to command a big signing-on fee elsewhere and Wolves’ generally poor performance in the Premier League over the last few years, it would be little surprise really to see him move on.
So surely, Wanderers fans will need to brace for news that, after five years at Molineux, Semedo will leave the club.
