The future of Matheus Cunha at Wolves is now up in the air.
The Molineux number 10 has made plenty of huge contributions this season and as such, Wolves have been keen to hand him a new contract.
Talks have been going on for a few weeks now.
It was claimed that Cunha and Wolves actually reached a verbal agreement over a new deal.
However, it was suggested ahead of the game with Chelsea that Cunha and his agent are stalling over signing a new contract.
He then put in a poor performance against Chelsea, with Vitor Pereira calling Cunha out for his poor body language.
Pereira did also say Cunha is committed to Wolves, but some fans are now not sure he’ll still be at the club at the end of the January transfer window – and now, another claim has been made.
Wolves have told Matheus Cunha they’ll sell him without a relegation clause if club go down

It was claimed yesterday that Wolves would demand around £80 million for Cunha this month.
The club ideally don’t want to sell this month, hence that huge asking price.
It’s thought that has been one reason behind the talks over a new contract stalling.
But there is also seemingly another reason, which has today been offered by talkSPORT.
The publication claims that Cunha has been wanting a relegation release clause inserted into any new contract. Of course, at the moment, the club are embroiled in a battle down the bottom, and the threat of dropping into the Championship is very real.
But as per talkSPORT, the Wolves hierarchy have assured Cunha he’d be sold without the need for a clause in the event they drop out of the top-flight.
Cunha saga is the last thing Wolves need
With Wolves teetering just above the relegation zone, this situation with Cunha is the very last thing Pereira needs.
The Wolves manager is already having to navigate a tricky situation with Mario Lemina, and he does not need the same kind of thing with Cunha.
It is starting to feel as though Cunha might not sign a new contract with Wolves.

The claims on Monday were concerning, and then seeing him play against Chelsea, it felt as though something has happened behind the scenes.
There will likely be developments in the coming days, but Wolves just need him to stay, because losing him would be a huge blow in the club’s fight against relegation.
That said, it’s unwise to keep players who do not want to be at the club. Hopefully, a resolution will be reached as soon as possible.
