What the Spanish media are saying Wolves will refuse to ‘let’ happen to Fabio Silva this summer

Vitor Pereira will have a decision to make with Fabio Silva in the summer transfer window.

The Wolves manager has yet to review the striker, having arrived at Molineux during Silva’s loan spell at UD Las Palmas.

As the 22-year-old continues to thrive in Spain, those back in the West Midlands have their hands full with building interest in the player.

Silva has generated transfer interest from several clubs eager to sign the forward on a permanent deal from Wolves in the summer.

It was assumed that Silva would leave Wolves in 2024, however, the Old Gold instead sanctioned a fourth loan spell, which is proving to be a stroke of genius.

Spanish media share Wolves stance on Fabio Silva transfer

Silva regrets joining Wolves for a record transfer fee back in 2020, as pressure was on the forward from day one due to his price tag.

Now, it’s expected that the Portuguese striker will be released from his shackles at Molineux, with plenty of interest surrounding the Wolves loanee.

While the Old Gold will be eager to move on from the transfer saga regarding Nuno Espirito Santo’s capture, it’s understood that there’s one thing Wolves won’t be doing this summer.

In a transfer update on Silva, Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo insisted that interested clubs don’t expect Wolves to let the striker go without a fight.

They report that while Silva has a ‘flood of suitors’, his parent club ‘won’t let him go easily’, referencing the price Wolves paid to sign him almost five years ago.

It’s clear that Wolves won’t make a profit on Silva, who was purchased for £35m, but the Old Gold will attempt to maximise the price they can move the player on for.

End of Silva’s Wolves career in sight

Last summer, it was reported that Wolves wanted £20m for Silva, who at the time was said to be of interest to AC Milan.

After a poor loan spell at Rangers after failing to score in the first half of the 2023/24 campaign at Wolves, many had low expectations regarding the price the Old Gold could acquire for the striker.

This season has been a contrast for Silva, whose successes have been recognised, picking up several nominations for U23 La Liga player of the month.

It will be fascinating to see the price Wolves get for Silva, who, after a testing time in the West Midlands, is likely to fly the nest at the end of the 2024/25 calendar.
