It is widely expected that Wolves number 10 Matheus Cunha will be playing his football elsewhere next season.
The Brazilian has had another stellar season at Molineux, and his contributions have gone a long way in keeping Wanderers in the Premier League.
Wolves are not yet mathematically safe.
But it’s only a matter of time before the club’s safety is confirmed – with 12 points the gap and just seven games left to play.
Cunha has a number of clubs on his tail at the moment, and with a £62.5 million release clause, Cunha will surely depart.
It’s just a question of where he heads – and Manchester United are keen to land the star.

Man United officials eye staggered payments to meet Matheus Cunha’s Wolves release clause

It has been reported that Cunha’s agent has flown into the UK for talks about his client’s future.
Potentially he could meet several clubs, and Give Me Sport have reported there has already been contact with United.
Everyone knows Cunha’s price.
As per the release clause that was negotiated as part of his new contract earlier this year, the Brazilian will be worth £62.5 million from this summer.
United have had their financial problems in recent times, but they don’t want to let those get in the way of their pursuit of Cunha.
According to GMS, United officials believe ‘they will not have to match that figure up front’. It’s stated they will look for a different kind of structure if they decide to enter negotiations.
Cunha open to Man United move
There is also word of how Cunha actually feels about a potential move to United this summer.
It’s claimed Cunha would actually be open to joining United regardless of whether they can boast European football next season.
United, of course, are nowhere near the European spots in the Premier League, and will only get European football for next by winning the Europa League.
Given the high level of interest in Cunha, Wolves will surely be hoping for another club to pay the release clause in full, rather than entertaining United trying to pay in installments.
Molineux News has been informed that, despite the interest from United, and the player’s willingness to go there, it’s actually Nottingham Forest who are Cunha’s most likely destination.
