Wolverhampton Wanderers have this week been linked with a potential move for Middlesbrough star Djed Spence.
ESPN have reported that Wolves are actually leading the chase for the 20-year-old, who is also on the radars of Rangers and Everton.

Spence would supposedly cost somewhere around the £5 million mark.
Apparently, and somewhat bizarrely, the interest in Spence is as a result of Nelson Semedo’s future at Molineux being uncertain.
No extra information is provided on that particular claim.

The interest in Spence is definitely a little suspect given Semedo only joined last summer and has been improving in 2021, and then there’s Ki-Jana Hoever, another new signing, in reserve.
But it remains to be seen if Wolves will make a move.

Spence could have a very bright future, and Boro boss Neil Warnock believes he has the potential to play at the highest level, but only if he applies himself.
He said back in November (via Teesside Live): “There are not many players where you can say it’s all up to them personally how far they go – it’s what’s between the ears. He could be playing at a top club in England or in non-league in five years, I don’t know.
“Application, dedication, all these things come into it. He’s got the tools, there’s no doubt about that.”
