Wolves fans are growing concerned about the situation regarding Matheus Cunha.
Cunha was in talks with Wolves to sign a new contract a few weeks ago, which was news that delighted fans after his amazing campaign so far.
Supposedly, Cunha reached a verbal agreement with Wolves and the suggestion was that it would only be a matter of time until Wolves announced a new deal for the Brazilian.
But last night, Fabrizio Romano reported there were still ‘final details’ to sort out with the Cunha contract. Romano also mentioned Arsenal’s interest in the player and suddenly, Cunha extending doesn’t feel as nailed on as it did a couple of weeks ago.
Now, another claim has been made about the Cunha situation relating to his agent.
Matheus Cunha’s agent ‘keen to exploit’ gap in the market as Wolves seek new contract

Cunha has been happy at Wolves.
But the reality is that he’s one of the most talented players the club have ever had, and it will be hard to keep him for a long time.
He’s Champions League-level, and realistically he should not be fighting relegation.
But there’s still been optimism about Cunha signing a new contract at Wolves, potentially featuring a reasonable release clause.
But the situation has become a bit murky now, with journalist Alex Richards providing some information regarding the player’s agent and why there has been no announcement of a new deal yet.
He wrote on X last night: “Matheus Cunha agent starting to make a little noise. Suggestion is he fancies there’s a gap in the market & is growing keen to exploit it – it may not be there in summer.”
But Richards did end on a positive note, adding: “Wolves not interested in selling now (but all have a price) & still expect new deal will get signed.”
Wolves cannot lose Cunha in January
It is absolutely paramount that Wolves keep Cunha this month.
Seemingly there’s still a fairly good chance that this extension will be announced, which would put an end to all the speculation.
But the claim about his agent is a bit of a worry.

Perhaps they feel there are some clubs out there right now who could do with a player of Cunha’s profile, and that now is the time for his client to move.
But this could also be a tactic from the agent to demand more favourable terms for them in the contract negotiations with Wolves.
We’ll see what transpires in the coming days, but Wolves very obviously need to keep Cunha. Failure to do so could have disastrous consequences.
