What Jeff Shi has personally told Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen about Newcastle move

Jorgen Strand Larsen’s future has been uncertain ever since Newcastle made their interest known in the Wolves forward.

While Wolves have made clear that Strand Larsen is not for sale, after rejecting multiple bids from Eddie Howe’s side for the Norwegian, the Geordies have not given up.

Another bid is expected from Newcastle, as they continue their struggles to sign a striker this summer.

Now, there has been a major update surrounding the 25-year-old’s future, and executive chairman Jeff Shi has now made Wolves’ position clear.

Jeff Shi tells Jorgen Strand Larsen he won’t be sold this summer

It is the news that every Wolves fan did not want to hear. Jorgen Strand Larsen has now told Wolves that he wishes to leave Molineux this summer.

A report from David Ornstein reveals that after telling the club of his wishes, executive chairman Jeff Shi personally stepped in and told him he is not for sale.

Despite previous reports that Wolves would accept a package of £60 million, the Old Gold now have the stance that no offer will be accepted for their star striker.

Vitor Pereira is looking to strengthen up top, and a move for Genk’s Tolu Arokodare seems to be moving forward.

Additionally, Molineux News revealed earlier that Wolves still hold interest in Brazilian forward Yuri Alberto.

Any potential forward signing is not linked to the departure of Jorgen Strand Larsen, and they are deals that will add depth rather than replace players in the squad.

Fosun blocking Jorgen Strand Larsen transfer is the best choice available

Letting Jorgen Strand Larsen leave at this stage of the transfer window would be self-sabotage at the highest level.

While Fosun have not covered themselves in glory in the market, keeping the Norwegian at Molineux is one of the smartest decisions they can make, and it looks like they are putting their foot down.

With Wolves 2-1 down against West Ham in the Carabao Cup, the introduction of Strand Larsen completely changed the game, and signing someone with the same impact with the few days left of the window would be a near impossible task.

The striker’s finishing prowess was on full show as he scored twice to turn the tie around.

Wolves are anticipated to be fighting relegation this season, and a player who scored 14 goals last season will be vital to surviving.

Fans may not be happy with Fosun’s overall summer, but this decision is one that will be universally loved.
