In recent weeks Fer Lopez has been linked with an early exit from Wolves, and now there is word from reporter Liam Keen on the youngster.
Fer Lopez arrived at Wolves as the club’s first signing of the summer window.
There was excitement about his arrival, despite the fact that he hadn’t played that many times for Celta Vigo’s first-team.
A spectator since joining Wolves, what does Fer Lopez have to do to earn more minutes…
Lopez then had a decent pre-season for Wolves, and fans were looking forward to seeing him kick on.
But that has not happened at all, with only Mateus Mane – who only recently started making matchday squads – playing fewer first-team minutes than him this season.
Lopez has barely had a sniff.
And now, there has been an update offered by E&S journalist Liam Keen.
Fer Lopez ‘expected’ to leave Wolves on loan in January

Recently, there were reports that Celta Vigo wanted to re-sign Lopez on loan.
But it was then claimed that Celta would struggle to afford Lopez’s wages. It has also since been confirmed by Celta’s president that they would need to free up a slot for him in their squad.
But this evening, Liam Keen has shared what he knows of the situation. And he offers a fairly definitive update.
He reports in the E&S that a move to Celta has been discussed, and that Wolves are ‘assessing all of their options to ensure the player has regular minutes for the rest of the season’.
He adds it is ‘expected’ that Lopez will leave Wolves once the January window opens.
Wolves have had a shocker with Lopez
There has been a furious reaction on social media to this update about Lopez, with many against the idea of him leaving.
Lopez has shown glimpses of creativity at times when he’s played. And of course, this remains one of Wolves’ biggest issues right now.
But it seems Rob Edwards also doesn’t fancy the Spaniard, and he is now likely to depart.
There was real hype when Fer Lopez first signed for Wolves
Wolves have had a number of transfer fails in recent times, but a mid-season loan for Lopez would be such a poor look.
He was signed for just under £20 million, and the club seem ready to let him depart on loan already.
With the AFCON tournament starting soon, and injuries starting to take a greater grip on the squad, loaning out Lopez could well be a risk.
