Wolves are in the middle of one of their most important transfer windows for some time.
Vitor Pereira guided Wolves to a 16th-placed finish in 2025/26, and fans believe that good things could happen if he is backed.
In the end, Wolves survived with relative ease, after Pereira did a brilliant job of reconnecting the squad and getting points on the board.
But the challenge from the teams that went down was weak.
Without doubt, Wolves now have a huge amount to do to avoid regressing, with Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri having already been sold.
But it was recently claimed that ‘the penny has dropped’ for Wolves executives, who have apparently realised they cannot keep gambling with the club’s Premier League status.
Fans have started to get frustrated again following that suggestion, with not much happening in the last few weeks – only Fer Lopez has come in as a new signing for Wolves.
But one new piece of information from Johnny Phillips is bound to make some feel better.
Fosun acknowledge a rebuild is needed at Wolves

Wolves have only signed Lopez so far.
The young Spaniard has come in from Celta Vigo for a fee of around £19.5 million.
There are high hopes for him, but fans now want to see more new faces come through the door.
And Johnny Phillips does suggest Molineux will be a hive of activity from July onwards, as he shared information relating to Fosun and how they see the summer.
He writes in his latest Substack: “The head coach does not expect to go into next season light on numbers and with a new structure put in place to give him the best support possible off the pitch it is not unreasonable to suggest there will be significant arrivals.
“The level of spending is another matter. Not even those closest to the hierarchy are prepared to put a number on how much is available, but Fosun is aware that this is a summer rebuild and not merely one where the odd addition can supplement what is already in place.”
Phillips has also claimed that Pereira wasn’t particularly close to Matt Hobbs, which may partly explain why he left the club recently.
Wolves set to be busier from July 1
Wolves have been fairly quiet on the incomings front up to now.
But the suggestion is that Wolves will be busier from the start of July.
Phillips points out that a new financial year begins on July 1, meaning ‘there will be the opportunity to see what happens with incomings for the 2025/26 Premier League season’.
Wolves are looking to make a string of new signings, with a new central midfielder, another number 10 a new striker and potentially even a new goalkeeper on the agenda.
With Wolves recently instigating a recruitment restructure, which saw Domenico Teti arrive at the club, surely the intention is to give Pereira the tools he needs to get Wolves up the Premier League table.
