Wolves fans are still very hopeful that Jhon Arias will complete his proposed move to Molineux.
Wolves remain in talks with Fluminense over the Colombia international, who stands to become the club’s second addition of the summer.
It was claimed on Tuesday that Wolves had offered Arias a contract on less money than what he’s on now.
Arias dreams of playing in Europe, and would therefore be happy to take a pay cut.
But at the moment, the deal is stalling and one journalist has suggested why that is the case. And it’s to do with Arias’ former club.
Jhon Arias to Wolves stalling as Fluminense try to raise their ownership clause

It has been reported by Brazilian journalist Victor Lessa that Fluminense are currently holding talks with Arias’ former club regarding the ownership of the Colombian.
At the moment, Patriotas own 50% of Arias’ rights. So 50% of the transfer fee that Wolves would pay to Fluminense would go to them.
But Fluminense want to raise their ownership of the player’s rights to 75%, and push Patriotas’ ownership down to 25% – half of what they are currently entitled to.
This negotiation is currently being handled by Arias’ entourage.
Once this situation is sorted, a new offer from Wolves to Fluminense for Arias is expected.
Key days ahead for Wolves in Arias pursuit
On Monday it had looked as though Arias would potentially sign this week.
But it appears Fluminense actually rejected Wolves’ proposal and now this situation with Patriotas and Arias’ ownership has come to light.
Ideally, a quick resolution will be reached, and Patriotas and Fluminense come to an agreement over Arias that is fair.
Because Wolves are waiting to sign the player, and the player wants to make the move.
Of course at the moment, Wolves are into their pre-season and this is a crucial period for new players to come and settle in.
