What fans can expect from Wolves this summer as new Vitor Pereira transfer plan shared

Wolves will be in the market for new players this summer – and Vitor Pereira could sign two players for the same position.

The next transfer window will see a lot of activity, with a number of players set to leave the club.

The likes of Nelson Semedo and Pablo Sarabia are expected to depart when their contracts expire.

And Matheus Cunha is perhaps the most likely exit of all, with his £62.5 million release clause sure to be triggered by someone.

So Wolves will have work to do to rebuild the squad.

Apparently, Vitor Pereira will prioritise signing a new goalkeeper for Wolves, with Sam Johnstone said to be keen on leave Molineux after just one season.

But it’s also been claimed that Pereira has his eye on another position in the team.

It was reported by the Telegraph on Tuesday morning that Wolves could be in the market for at least one ‘number 10’ this summer.

The system Wolves play currently adopts two number 10s. For most of the season Cunha has played as the left 10, and the right 10 has varied, with Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Hwang Hee-chan, Goncalo Guedes and most recently Marshall Munetsi having played there.

It is stated by the Telegraph that Pereira wants to put a focus on signing players who are good in one-vs-one situations.

Money will be available this summer for Wolves to spend.

But it’s stated fans should not expect a ‘major spend’ this summer.

Indeed, it was previously reported that Fosun intend to adopt a self-sustaining approach once again this summer, and signings for big money are not really conducive to that.

Wolves facing exodus of attacking players

It is understandable that Wolves may target at least one new number 10 this summer.

Sarabia is expected to leave Wolves when his contract is up.

Carlos Forbs has not impressed on loan from Ajax and should return to his parent club.

Then, Hwang Hee-chan and Goncalo Guedes have also both been linked with exits from Wolves in recent times.

And of course, Matheus Cunha is probably the Wolves player with highest chance to leave.

So there’s a lot of work to be done, and Fosun simply have to ensure they do not leave Pereira short going into 2025/26
