What a Portuguese football expert said about Wolves target Manu Silva will have fans very excited

Wolves are edging closer to completing the transfer of Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Manu Silva.

Wolves understood that they needed a new centre-back in the January transfer window, leading Vitor Pereira to his first signing.

The Old Gold welcomed Emmanuel Agbadou from Stade Reims and now, Wolves are ready to add to their squad once more.

Pereira’s second signing looks likely to be Manu Silva, who Wolves submitted a bid to sign to bolster their midfield options.

Wolves target Manu Silva earns rave reviews in Portugal

Silva is one of the top-performing midfielders in Liga Portugal this season, being a player transformed by former manager Rui Borges.

Borges assisted Silva on his quest to move further up the pitch to become a defensive midfielder, making the Wolves target an impressively rounded asset.

Many fans at Molineux have not seen what Silva can offer to the Wolves squad, however, Portuguese football expert Tom Kundert provided an insight.

In December, Kundert, the founder of PortuGOAL, asked whether there was a ‘better player’ in Portugal than Silva, telling of his quality.

Taking to PortuGOAL to comment further on the Vitoria sensation, the midfielder’s growth was outlined in a glowing review.

Silva was described as ‘one of the surprises this year’, with his rise then detailed with a claim made for his suitability to replace Rodri at Atletico Madrid.

“He [Silva] moved up on the field thanks to his incredible ability to involve himself in the construction of play. Already very mature and cool as you like on the ball, he seems perfect for a first-tier La Liga team like Atletico Madrid.

“With his defensive skills and coolness, it seems like a perfect fit for Simeone’s team, which has struggled to find a CDM since the departure of Rodri to Man City.”

Of course, it looks as though Silva is set to replace Mario Lemina at Wolves instead of Rodri at Atletico, in what could prove to be a stellar acquisition from Pereira.

Manu Silva misses Vitoria Guimaraes game amid Wolves transfer speculation

Things have moved quickly on the transfer front as Wolves prepare to lose Lemina this month.

After Pereira confirmed that Lemina refused to play, links to Silva quickly appeared, with the player’s transfer edging closer, according to reports.

In Portugal, A Bola reported that the midfielder was left out of Vitoria’s squad to face Arouca due to the 23-year-old preparing to ‘travel to England’.

The report said that a deal is ‘very close’, with ‘details’ the only thing that stand between the deal becoming official.

It’s been reported that Wolves will pay in the region of £10m for Silva, in what looks to be an incredibly bright transfer for the Old Gold.
