Goncalo Guedes’ time at Wolves is almost over, as Real Sociedad are closing in on signing the forward.
Real Sociedad have struck an agreement in principle to sign Guedes on a permanent basis.
The 28-year-old is set to call time on his Wolves career after signing for the West Midlands club back in 2022.
Wolves paid £27.5m to sign Guedes from Valencia, a fee that doesn’t represent what the attacker has done for the club over the years.
Guedes’ attitude has been questioned multiple times as his commitment to Wolves has been criticised from as early as his first year, making his exit unsurprising.

Wolves fans react to Goncalo Guedes’ sale price
Vitor Pereira hinted that Guedes could leave Wolves this summer, and now, the player has got his wish.
Though getting the winger off the wage book is a positive, there is one complaint that has left Wolves fans furious with the club’s hierarchy.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Wolves will get around £5m for Guedes, which is a staggeringly low fee with regard to what the club paid for him.
The topic had supporters talking on social media, with most absolutely fuming with the news.
“Goodness me that’s awful, but at least his wages are off the books and we have an international slot we can fill.”
“Christ thats quite the hit on the fee we paid. Glad to see the back of him.”
“So poor! Wolves just pay higher for player and sell so cheap.”
The angry reaction to Guedes’ sale price continues to flood in, with some supporters taking aim at chairman Jeff Shi.
“Wish Jeff could sell the club as cheaply as he’s selling the players lately,” one said.
Another added, “If Jeff owned a car dealership, it’d go bust within a week.”
“Jeff Shi economics masterclass,” a fan joked.
With 13 goal contributions in just 51 appearances for Wolves in three years, it’s been a horrible time in England for Guedes.
One Wolves fan claimed that the deal for the Portuguese forward is “up there with the worst signings our clubs ever made.”
Keeping with the ‘worst’ theme, another supporter drew attention to how poor Wolves are at selling players.
“We are the worst-selling club in the world.”
Putting attention back on Guedes, another said, “Fee is ridiculous, but at least he’s off the wage bill.
“Joke of a fee, no way are we replacing him with any quality with that pittance!”
Poor summer of sales for Wolves
Though the Old Gold have earned profits on the sales of Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha this summer, the deals still highlight Wolves’ inability to sell impressively.
Wolves might live to regret Ait-Nouri’s exit fee, and on the subject, fans were furious with Cunha’s release clause price.
Though Guedes hasn’t even had half the impact on the club that the duo above did, his exit fee is bitterly disappointing and another instance of a poor sale.
All eyes will now be on how much Wolves can get for Fabio Silva, who will surely be the next first-team exit.
