‘Wants the move’: Rob Holding has decided which club he wants to join today – Sky

Wolves have reportedly been considering a deadline day move for Rob Holding, but it would appear the defender is more likely to join Crystal Palace.

It was suggested earlier that Wanderers were looking at moving for Holding.

The 27-year-old is set to depart Arsenal today, as he is not in favour at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta.

He is likely to be on the move today – but it looks as though he may not head to Molineux, with Crystal Palace seemingly in pole position.

Rob Holding wants Crystal Palace move

On Sky Sports News earlier this morning, presenter Tom White delivered an update on the Englishman.

He said: “Crystal Palace are in talks to sign Rob Holding on a permanent deal. Now the player wants the move we are told. He’s available for transfer.

“He did rule out a switch to Luton on Thursday. Sevilla on loan is an option if the Palace move doesn’t progress but Holding is keen on the move from Arsenal to Palace.”

The lack of a mention for Wolves does suggest that a move to Molineux today is pretty unlikely.

Especially with Wanderers signing Santiago Bueno from Girona yesterday.

It would not hurt for Wolves to have one more central defender come in today.

But it does not look, at this stage, like Holding will be that player.

A fifth centre-back could be desirable for Wolves because Gary O’Neil is known to sometimes set up with a back three.

It will be interesting if Holding does complete a move to Palace.

Wolves face the Eagles on Sunday in the Premier League, so could potentially come up against him. That said, Palace may have to move very quickly to do to get him registered in time.
