Vitor Pereira warned Wolves defender will issue transfer ultimatum in summer if one demand isn’t met

Wolves are set for another busy summer transfer window. The Old Gold will have several key pieces of business to sort out.

Wolves welcomed multiple new signings before the start of the season. There were also some departures, including left-back Hugo Bueno, who joined Feyenoord on loan for the season.

The Spaniard is enjoying a good campaign in the Netherlands playing Champions League football and not looking out of place.

There could be some uncertainty surrounding his long-term future once he returns to Molineux though.

Wolves warned Hugo Bueno could seek permanent transfer

Since the start of the season, Bueno has started 11 Eredivisie and five Champions League matches.

For the most part, the 22-year-old has done well. Bueno’s standout performance came against AC Milan during Feyenoord’s 1-1 draw in the Champions League last month.

And the Express and Star’s Nathan Judah thinks Bueno’s resurgence in Europe’s biggest competition could entitle him to make some strong demands in the summer.

“I’m pretty sure Hugo Bueno will want to be assured of being a starter going into the Premier League, and maybe not someone who’s not going to be in and out of the side,” he said on the E&S Wolves podcast.

A fair prediction considering the step up the defender has successfully made.

A lot will depend on Rayan Ait-Nouri

Bueno’s loan move was allowed to happen due to Rayan Ait-Nouri being Wolves’ first choice left-sided wing-back.

There has been little room for Bueno to progress. The door for the Spaniard to break into Vitor Pereira’s plans could be nudged open later in the year though.

In addition to Matheus Cunha, Ait-Nouri is another Wolves player linked with leaving the Midlands at the end of the season.

Air-Nouri has been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea but an agreement with any club has yet to be reached, leaving his Molineux future up in the air.

Should Ait-Nouri be one to move on, Bueno will have a much better chance of becoming a regular. He will understandably not want to sit on the bench again next season after tasting Champions League football this campaign though.
