Vitor Pereira shares how many more signings he is ‘expecting’ at Wolves with three weeks to go

Vitor Pereira has spoken ahead of the new season – and commented on what he expects to happen in the coming weeks regarding transfers.

Wolves get their Premier League campaign underway this weekend against Manchester City at Molineux.

Opening fixtures don’t come much tougher, and City are bound to come out of the blocks quickly as they eek to atone for their poor season in 2024/25. Certainly, Erling Haaland’s 100% opening fixture scoring record is a worry.

As things currently stand plenty of fans are nervous about the 2025/26 season.

That’s because Wolves have offloaded a host of players and only brought in three new faces so far.

The work continues behind the scenes to ensure Vitor Pereira heads into the campaign with a squad that can compete, and now the manager has shared his thoughts on the current transfer situation at Molineux.

Fer Lopez, Jhon Arias and David Moller Wolfe are Wolves’ three signings so far this summer.

Lopez has looked lively in pre-season, and Arias will hopefully be the big impact player everyone hopes.

Moller Wolfe is also a positive addition, and will hopefully bring a bit more physicality to the side.

But Wolves need more and Pereira knows it.

It was recently claimed that Pereira was confident of new additions, and now the Wolves manager has shared how many more new signings he is anticipating.

He said (via Wolves official): “We have some new players and I’m expecting another one or two or three, and the club is working on that, so we’ll see, as I cannot say now that we are at our best level, we still need to have time for this.”

It’s thought a new forward who can play all across the front positions, a midfielder and a right wing-back are the current priorities.

Pereira transfer message is slightly concerning

Wolves need at least three new players.

So for Pereira to suggest there may actually be less than that is a bit of a concern.

It has been a difficult window, not just for Wolves but for several other clubs this summer.

But a big push is now required by the recruitment team to land the players Pereira needs. Failure to do that could mean Wolves are in real trouble this season.

Thankfully, despite the frustrations he must be currently feeling, Pereira has stated he won’t leave Wolves and there appears to be no chance of a dramatic Julen Lopetegui-style walk out.

Ultimately, Pereira has worked for a long time to land himself in the Premier League, and is clearly determined to be a successful Wolves manager.

But he needs a big hand from Fosun to make that a reality.
