Vitor Pereira on red alert as £15m target left out of pre-season friendly amid Wolves links

The 2025/26 Premier League campaign is edging closer, and currently, Wolves still have plenty of work to do in the transfer window.

Only two new players have arrived at Molineux in the shape of Fer Lopez and Jhon Arias, although Wolves are still targeting four key positions, including a new right wing-back, left wing-back, central midfielder and centre-forward.

As it stands, Wolves are ‘leading the queue’ to sign Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen ahead of West Ham, and the Frenchman would supplement their forward options.

The Wanderers are also targeting further ammunition up top to support Jorgen Strand Larsen, with one target emerging as a real possibility.

Wolves target Mihailo Ivanovic left out of Millwall’s pre-season friendly

Shopping in England is something the Old Gold rarely do, although Wolves have shown an interest in Mihailo Ivanovic from Millwall.

On Monday, it was suggested that Wolves had made contact to sign Ivanovic, who is valued at £15 million by the Championship side.

The 20-year-old was a handful for second-tier defences last term with a 12-goal haul in the competition, including one strike in the FA Cup.

Now, after emerging as a potential suitor for Ivanovic and someone who could rival Strand Larsen, their hopes of capturing the Serbian were boosted on Tuesday evening.

As revealed by Millwall’s official X page, Ivanovic and five of his Millwall teammates were ‘rested’ for their pre-season friendly against Sutton United.

Wolves-linked Japhet Tanganga was among the players on that list, sparking speculation over their futures at the Den.

Admittedly, when someone is left out of the pre-season squad, it normally means they’re either injured or set to move on, and in the case of Ivanovic, he’s likely to be exiting Millwall this summer.

Ivanovic would offer perfect competition for Jorgen Strand Larsen

In a system built around the presence of Strand Larsen as the focal point, it is difficult to find a player who wants to be utilised as a backup.

But for Ivanovic, he’s still only 20 and would probably accept the role of playing second fiddle to the Norwegian.

The clinical centre-forward could learn a lot from the towering Wolves striker and offer Pereira a genuine option from the bench.

The Portuguese boss requires someone to rival Strand Larsen, or at least offer him support, and for £15m, surely Ivanovic is worth a punt.
