Vitor Pereira just made an interesting suggestion about Pablo Sarabia with his Wolves contract winding down

Vitor Pereira is facing a big summer at Wolves.

The Portuguese head coach has done a superb job so far since replacing Gary O’Neil back in December, and has easily kept Wanderers in the Premier League in the end.

Fans were extremely worried only a few months ago.

But Vitor Pereira has just completely changed the picture at Molineux and now wants to try and take Wolves to the next level.

To do that, a productive summer is crucial.

But Wolves face the prospect of losing some experienced players, and one man who could be leaving is Pablo Sarabia.

It was recently suggested there was a ‘certainty’ that Sarabia would leave Wolves this summer when his contract expires.

And what Pereira said about the player earlier today was interesting to say the least.

Sarabia has had a very interesting time at Wolves.

He signed for just over £4 million (BBC Sport) from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2023 and many felt it was a superb bit of business by the club.

Sarabia has sadly been a little underwhelming though, lacking consistency at Molineux.

But undoubtedly, he’s had several brilliant moments in a Wolves shirt, and he can create like very few others in the squad can.

Currently, he stands to leave. But today at his press conference, Pereira suggested he does want the Spaniard to stay put.

He said: “Sarabia I like him. I like his personality and quality, we will try to do our best but at this moment I don’t have the answer.

“We must wait, sometimes we are a bit impatient but we need to respect the timing of the players and the club.”

This is the first time we have had any kind of suggestion from Pereira himself about keeping hold of Sarabia.

Pereira offers Nelson Semedo update

Pereira also gave a brief update about the future of Nelson Semedo today.

The captain is another player who stands to leave as a free agent this summer when his contract expires.

Pereira said: “Nelson knows we want him.”

Recently, Semedo admitted there is still a chance he could extend his contract at Wolves, and that would certainly delight a lot of people.

Dave Edwards would love to see Semedo re-sign, branding him one of the best full-backs in the Premier League.

If Wolves can keep both Semedo and Sarabia, then that would be a real surprise given both are on huge wages at Molineux.
