The January window is just weeks away, and a player who was ever-present under Vitor Pereira might just be surplus to requirements under Rob Edwards.
The sales are coming. Regardless of how this season goes, Wolves will be offloading in the next 12 months.
This is a new project with plenty of change in recruitment structure, and some players will be deemed not part of the plan. That could start in January.
Rob Edwards is on board with Wolves’ recruitment strategy, and there’s no reason why some business won’t be done in the upcoming window.
That could include offloading a player out of favour at Molineux.

Marshall Munetsi attracting interest amid Wolves struggles
There’s no doubt Marshall Munetsi would have been one of the last names to come up for a potential move when Pereira was at the helm.
Pereira relied on Munetsi to the point where it was frustrating in his final weeks as manager.
But Edwards has no such affiliation for the box-to-box midfielder. And a move is possible, according to reports from French outlet L’Equipe.
They report: “Wolverhampton midfielder and former Reims player Marshall Munetsi could leave the Premier League this winter due to a deteriorating situation following the managerial change at his club. Several French clubs are reportedly interested.”
Plenty of interest from France in Marshall Munetsi 👀
Should Wolves cash in or keep?
Of course, Munetsi is now injured, but he hadn’t been featuring as regularly since the change in manager.
It’s not the last player we will hear of linked away from Wolves. The club is in a weak position.
Loans as an option for Wolves
They also report that Wolves might be open to a loan, though their information seems to be coming from the interested parties rather than from England.
Maybe Wolves will consider loans. If they do get relegated, they will be aiming for a swift return to the Premier League.
How long do you think Rob Edwards will remain in charge at Molineux?
Jeff Shi is confident it will be quite a while.
Clubs like Fulham and Sheffield United have done it in the past. They loan out high earners with the aim of needing them again the following campaign. It’s not a financially painless process, but it could be better than selling this summer at cut prices.
These are all conversations that should be happening at Wolves ahead of the January window.
