Vitor Pereira bang on the money as Wolves’ ideal profile for new signings is revealed

Wolves have been trying to get players in after a summer of big exits, and now it’s revealed what traits Vitor Pereira is looking for in new signings.

With the likes of Matheus Cunha, Nelson Semedo and Rayan Ait-Nouri moving on this summer, Wolves fans have been keeping an eye on who the club is targeting as replacements.

The addition of David Moller Wolfe is exciting as he is a very similar profile to Ait-Nouri, and fans will be hoping he can come close to replicating his predecessor’s production last season.

But the window is far from over, and Wolves still need a right-back. They also need to address the attacking departures that have been coming thick and fast.

Vitor Pereira’s preference for a certain profile has been revealed.

Vitor Pereira wants to sign attacking players with pace

Watching Wolves in pre-season, it’s clear they are lacking a spark going forward. The attacking play has been clunky at times, with chance creation noticeably lacking when compared to last season.

The club will want to remedy this as they consider who to bring in before the window shuts.

In the latest transfer window assessment released by The Times, Pereira’s preference is revealed: “Head coach Vitor Pereira likes attacking players with pace who can beat opponents.”

Moller Wolfe fits the bill, as do Fer Lopez and recent debut goalscorer Jhon Arias.

As for where the club need to strengthen, it’s revealed: “The priority is to bring in cover up front and in central midfield to join arrivals Jhon Arias and Fer López.”

Wolves desperately need more attacking threat

Wolves’ game against Girona at the weekend was concerning, with little in the way of attacking inspiration, apart from a well-taken Arias goal to halve the deficit.

Along with Cunha, Goncalo Guedes has departed for Real Sociedad and striker Fabio Silva is heavily linked with a move away.

That leaves few options for the front three, meaning an injury or shock sale could completely derail the attack, something the manager will surely be worried about. Pacey, attacking signings are exactly what is needed.

As the summer draws to a close, more business will have to be done to avoid another poor start to the Premier League season.
