Matheus Cunha is wanted by an array of Premier League clubs, but one stands out at this moment in time, Molineux News understands.
The Brazilian’s exit seems inevitable, which was the case even before Cunha hinted at his desire to leave Wolves.
In January, Cunha generated a lot of transfer interest, but the decision was made to pen a new deal at Molineux, an agreement that included a £62.5m release clause.
Vitor Pereira will be thinking about life without Wolves’ star player, who is surely entering his final few weeks in the West Midlands – but just how far away will his next destination be?

Nottingham Forest most likely to sign Matheus Cunha ‘as it stands’
Arsenal were linked to Cunha in the January window however, it’s understood that the Gunners have reservations over his temperament.
More recently, Manchester United have emerged as a club eyeing Cunha, whose agent is preparing to fly to England to assess his client’s options.
Another interested party is Nottingham Forest, who, with Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm, are heading towards Champions League football.
Speaking exclusively to Molineux News about Cunha’s possible next steps, TBR’s Graeme Bailey revealed that ‘as it stands’, Forest are in pole position to land the Brazilian.
“He’s on Manchester United’s radar, but Man United have got an awful lot of work to do, I’m not sure he’s at the top of their list,” Bailey said.
“We know about Forest. As it stands, I still believe that Forest are most likely, but a lot can change in a few weeks, but as it stands today, I would make Forest favourites.”
The transfer expert went on to comment on the work that is going on behind the scenes in Cunha’s camp.
“We know Cunha’s been engaging with other clubs for a while now, these players will be at their new clubs in less than three months time, so it’s going to come around very quickly.”
Selling Cunha to Nuno Espirito Santo would be painful for Wolves
Seeing any club land Cunha will be painful for Wolves; however, the idea of offloading the Old Gold’s star player to Forest would be a pill rather difficult to swallow.

Cunha is Wolves’ best-performing player this season, and soon, he could find a new place to call home not too far from Molineux.
Forest’s rise under Nuno only emphasises the difference between the two clubs and their ownership, with the former Wolves boss guiding the Tricky Trees to the Champions League only three years after promotion.
Forest have been able to massively bolster their squad due to investment from their owners, something Wolves don’t have with Fosun and ultimately something that could see the Old Gold sell their best player to a Midlands rival.
Though Wolves are on the right path under Pereira, taking a glance at what Nuno is building at the City Ground is an agonising reminder of why such progression will never be possible at Molineux, unless Fosun dramatically change.
