Wolves ace Adama Traore is said to be hoping Tottenham Hotspur will make a bid for him today.
The winger has rarely been out of the transfer headlines in the past couple of weeks.
The Spaniard is a target for Spurs, with Nuno Espirito Santo keen to reunite with the star.
Traore only has a couple of years left on his contract.
Wolves, therefore, have needed to consider whether it is best to sell in this window.
But the bid obviously has to be right, with Traore a very dangerous and creative player.
According to the Mirror’s live blog (30/8, 22:34), Wolves are adamant they don’t want to sell.
Supposedly it would take around £40 million for Wolves to change their stance.
At this point, it would be one of the big stories of the window if Traore did end up departing.
In the last week or so, Bruno Lage has said he thinks Traore will stay. He reiterated that after the defeat to Manchester United.
Given Traore’s uniqueness, he would be very difficult to replace.
So letting him go on deadline day would likely be an unpopular decision and a big risk.
Traore departure today would be a shock
The Spaniard surely won’t be on the move today.
It is simply too short notice, and Lage clearly wants to add to his squad, not take away from it.
Traore has been outstanding in the first three Premier League games for Wolves, despite having no goals or assists to show for his efforts.
Maybe he does hope Spurs will come in for him, but even a big offer arriving today may not grant him his wish.
